What do people think of the Lion Dance?

With a history dating back thousands of years, the Lion Dance is a boisterous and vibrant performance that attracts people of all ages and cultures.

Traditionally, Lions are associated with heavenly blessings, prosperity, health and longevity.  They are a symbol of power, able to summon good luck and fortune and to exorcise evil spirits.   The Lion Dance plays an important role on auspicious occasions – business openings, festivals, official celebrations, religious rites etc - with everyone benefiting from the blessings of the lion.

The Lion Puppet is a pairing of two creative and skilful traditions:

  • The ancient art of puppetry with figurines controlled and manipulated with strings or wires (known as marionettes).
  • The fascinating art of the lion dance with its colourful costumes, traditions and rich cultural symbolism.

After extensive research and numerous modifications, we developed the Strings Lion Puppet, applied and received patent certification in June 2005.

Children find the lion puppet irresistible!  They delight in making the lion puppet “dance and prance”.  For parents, there’s joy in seeing the looks of fun and happiness on their children.

In the home, the lion is an auspicious symbol to display as well as contributing to the ambience and festive mood of Chinese New Year decorations.

Our hope is to convey the lion’s blessing to every person and household and to wherever it is welcomed.  The lion puppet is a great alternative!  - It’s an affordable and wonderful substitute when a lion dance group is not available.  Most of all – you will benefit from the blessings and happiness that the lion bestows.

Happiness is positive energy that brings wealth, and wealth would certainly bring forth more happiness.”

We know the lion puppet will be well received by all races and communities around the world.
